Denise Felkin is a childfree Editorial & Fine Art Documentary artist/photographer. She studied BA in Fine Art at University of Sunderland & MA in Photojournalism at University of Westminster, she graduated with a Distinction for project I’m Not Voting Because.. and was published in the General Election edition of The Observer New Review, BBC & Huck Magazine.
Childless/childfree series Mum’s Not the Word received exposure in the iPaper, Guardian, Sony World Photography, National Open Art and Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, Hundred Heroines, and Women in Art Fair, with exhibitions in London at Somerset House, Mall Galleries, Barge House, Peckham 24, as well as Fotonostrum Barcelona, Artefiera Bologna, Benaki Museum, Greece.
0void: The Art of Not Having Kids won the silver prize in the book/documentary category in the Tokyo Foto Awards 2023 and was digitally exhibited in Tokyo and Lucie House, Budapest.
Male counterpart Dad’s Not the Word was published in Loupe, and invited to exhibit in group show Art Icon at Bastille Design Centre Paris, in Parallel with Paris Photo 2024.
Individual images from In Site, a story of travellers in East London were shortlisted in the Documentary category of the British Photography Awards, and exhibited at Photojournalism Hub, London.
